Major parties review recent violent protests, process to deliver statute to go on

KATHMANDU: The top leaders of four major parties on Tuesday reviewed the security situation of the country in the wake of violent protests, including that of Monday’s fatal attack on security personnel in Tikapur of Kailali.
They agreed to move forward with the process to deliver new constitution as per the commitments made earlier, according to UCPN-Maoist Vice-Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam briefed the leaders about the incidents.
The leaders reached to a conclusion that the government should play an effective
role in maintaining law and order in the country.
